Yesterday rumours began to circulate that Disney had another trailer announcement to make, hours after confirming that we’ll get our first look at Doctor Strange next week. We then had our confirmation as the very first footage arrived from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the upcoming anthology movie from Monsters and Godzilla director Gareth Edwards, in the form of a teaser teaser trailer.

In this sneak peek, we heard the ominous sound of a TIE Fighter and got a glimpse at a new Stormtrooper. Could this be one of those Deathtroopers we’ve heard so much about?

Though Star Wars mania was firmly re-established with The Force Awakens Disney and Lucasfilm will need to work harder in order to sell this one to audiences, especially as some may not understand that it’s separate to the newly launched trilogy.

Now we have the full trailer, and many more questions. Check it out below.

Set between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, the plot of the movie revolves around a band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans, and a very impressive cast has been assembled made up of names like Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Riz Ahmed (though WHO they’re playing is obviously a mystery).

The film is out on the 16th of December, which is far too long to wait.

Here’s the ten second teaser preview which was released yesterday.
