We’re seeing so many strong female-led characters in Hollywood at the moment and it seems studios are doing their utmost to give audiences what they want. With the female-led reboot of Ghostbusters, Star Wars creating new female leads (Daisy Ridley in The Force Awakens & Felicity Jones in Rogue One) alongside the upcoming ‘Arrival starring Amy Adams and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in in a very prominent role in Suicide Squad, we’re seeing the ladies thrive.

This morning we awake to the news that the Oceans Eleven reboot, that we know as ‘Oceans Eight’ has started casting and it’s looking rather fabulous. Deadline are reporting that potentially joining the already announced Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock are Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and hip hop artist Awkwafina who we saw recently in Bad Neighbours 2. None of these are confirmed yet but no doubt we’ll start to hear soon once it’s all been firmed up.

2001’s Oceans Eleven starred Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia to name but a few. It was helmed by Director Steven Soderbergh and spawned two sequels bringing in a monstrous $1.12 billion at the worldwide box office making it a forgone conclusion that we’d see another movie in the franchise before too long.

According to the outlet, Warner Bros. have confirmed shooting will being in October in New York with director Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) at the helm.

More as we get it.
