Following on from the success of preceding endeavour The Help, director Tate Taylor has turned his attentions to the world of funk and soul, depicting the life of musician, and entertainer, James Brown.
We caught up with the filmmaker ahead of the film’s release, to discuss the casting of Chadwick Boseman in the lead role, what it was about Brown’s life that intrigued the director, and how he went about balancing the celebration of the man’s artistry, with the more reprehensible actions.
