It was just a week or so ago when HeyUGuys had the pleasure of sitting down with Hollywood star-turned-director Russell Crowe about his debut feature The Water Diviner. Now it’s time to focus our energy on yet another first-time filmmaker, now in the form of Ryan Gosling, whose dark fairytale Lost River is now out in cinemas.
We asked Gosling about his move into directing – whether it’s been on his mind for a while, and whether there are any filmmakers in particular that have inspired him. He also tells us why he opted not to be in the picture himself, whether he now has a different outlook on the industry and the dynamic in directing his very own wife Eva Mendes. Finally he discusses his next acting venture – the Brad Pitt and Christian Bale starring The Big Short.
