Word is, Shia LaBeouf took his method acting to the extreme for David Ayer’s epic war drama Fury, pulling out his own tooth, scarring himself and not showering for a couple of weeks. When we sat down with his co-stars Jon Bernthal and Michael Peña, we can safely report that they had all teeth in check, and thankfully, had definitely showered too.
We asked them about their own method techniques and how far they’re willing to go for a role. In this case, it seems to have been right to the limit – as they tell us about the bootcamp they endured and the intricate research they did to get their roles spot on. We also asked about working alongside Brad Pitt, and we tried to get an answer out of Peña about Ant-Man, but seems they’re not ready to talk about that one just yet.
