Remaking the original 1980s TV series, 21 Jump Street looks very well cast with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the lead of what should be one of the best comedies of the year.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, co-directors of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, are making their live-action feature debut from a script co-written by Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Hill himself, so we should be in for a great movie.

With the release only weeks away, we’ve seen plenty of excellent things from the movie already, and now we’ve got a great new featurette to share with you, courtesy of Yahoo Movies, telling us what it’s all about.

“In the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. But they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind.”

Along with Hill and Tatum in the leads, the film also stars Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Ellie Kemper, Rob Riggle, and a cameo from Johnny Depp, star of the original 1980s TV series.

I particularly like what we’ve seen of Ice Cube so far, and his part looks even better in this clip, along with a shot of what looks to be Tatum shooting Hill in the face with a toy gun.

21 Jump Street will be with us on 16th March both here and in the US, so literally just three weeks to go until its release. Until then, here’s the great new featurette to get a taste of clips from the film as well as behind-the-scenes action. Enjoy.
