Paul Feig and Melissa McCarthy’s last two films have taken more than half a billion dollars combined, proving their partnership incredibly successful for mid-budgeted comedy fare. McCarthy reunites with her Bridesmaids and The Heat director for action comedy, Spy, and Fox has launched the first trailer to give us a taste of what’s to come.

Susan Cooper is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner falls off the grid and another top agent is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.

Rose Byrne, who shared the screen with McCarthy in Bridesmaids, reteams with the leading actress for what’s sure to be a brilliant coupling. The duo share the screen with Jason Statham, Jude Law, Morena Baccarin, Bobby Cannavale, Allison Janney, Peter Serafinowicz, Curtis Jackson (a.k.a. 50 Cent), and home-grown talent Miranda Hart.

Feig is directing from his own script here for the first time in more than a decade.

More than anything, I’m looking forward to seeing Byrne light up the screen here with a return to straight comedy territory after last year’s Neighbors. That was a real highlight for me in 2014, and I’ve got big expectations that this will be a repeat success.

Spy hits the US on 22nd May and the UK on 5th June.

Those crazy Yahooos had it.
