Like most Marvel projects, Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man is shrouded in secrecy, and there are a number of actors in the movie whose roles have yet to be revealed, something which is driving curious comic book fans crazy.
However, in a recent interview with our own Stefan Pape, Judy Greer has revealed who she will be playing!
As many have previously speculated, the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes star will play the ex-wife of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), the man who suits up as Ant-Man under the watchful eye of original Ant-Man, Hank Pym.
“I’m Paul Rudd’s estranged ex-wife,” Greer confirmed. “We have a daughter together and our relationship is, well, estranged, but I feel like my character is still rooting for him to succeed. I guess that’s about as much as I can say.” You may not think this is a particularly big or interesting role, but the inclusion of Scott’s ex-wife and daughter might just give us an idea of what to expect down the line.
In the comic books, a teenage Cassie Lang ends up becoming Stature, a member of the Young Avengers.
If she’s introduced as a young girl in Ant-Man next year, that leaves the door wide open for her to perhaps join the team of heroes somewhere a little further down the line in Marvel’s Phase Four or Five plans.
As you can see by clicking the link above, Greer goes on to praise both Paul Rudd and Bobby Cannavale, and it’s been rumoured that the latter will play the new husband of Lang’s ex-wife and the cop who arrested the future Ant-Man during his days as a con man and a thief.
