He was among those being eyed for Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse (a role which eventually went to Mud’s Tye Sheridan), but now EastEnders star Ben Hardy has landed another key role in Bryan Singer’s movie.

Unfortunately, we don’t know who he will be playing at this point, but it is thought that it will be a part which is significant to the X-Men Universe. We haven’t heard much about villainous mutants who could fill the ranks of Magneto’s Brotherhood, so hopefully he isn’t going to be yet another member of the X-Men!

Either way, there are still any number of characters who he could be playing. With any luck, Singer will soon take to his Instagram or Twitter account to reveal who that will be, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.

In a year which will see the release of movies like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War, it’s no real surprise that X-Men: Apocalypse is upping it game with the addition of more characters, with other recent additions including fan-favourites like Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, and Nightcrawler.

Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released on May 27th, 2016.
