Winona Ryder has joined Season 3 of ‘Wednesday’ in a guest-starring role, setting the stage for a gothic-tinged reunion with series star Jenna Ortega and executive producer-director Tim Burton. The casting marks another collaboration between the trio following their work on ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ where Ortega played Ryder’s on-screen daughter under Burton’s direction.
The creative connections run even deeper. ‘Wednesday’ creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar penned the screenplay for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ making Ryder’s arrival feel less like a guest appearance and more like a family reunion in suitably macabre fashion.
Ryder becomes the latest high-profile addition to Season 3, following news that Eva Green will play Ophelia, the sister of Morticia Addams.

Returning cast members include Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, and Evie Templeton. The Addams family itself remains gloriously intact, with Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joanna Lumley, and Fred Armisen also starring.
Based on the characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, ‘Wednesday’ has become one of Netflix’s most successful genre hits, blending deadpan humour, supernatural intrigue, and coming-of-age chaos.
Gough, Millar, and Burton all serve as executive producers, with Burton continuing to direct episodes.
