For the millions of you out there who love it though, check out this brand new trailer for Mean Girls 2 which is coming straight to DVD in February 2011. It stars Jennifer Stone, Maiara Walsh, Meaghan Martin, Nicole Gale Anderson, Claire Holt and is directed by Melanie Mayron.

Very, very ominous. Seems to lack all of the charm, wit and guile of the first film, which is justly lauded. This looks ghastly, predictable, derivative and lacking the bite that made the first much more than just a high school chick-flick. See the first, be *very* careful about this sequel.

I couldn’t tell anything from this trailer, any more than I would have been able to judge “Mean Girls” from its trailer. Even so, the “Mean Girls” trailer at least gave a hint of good writing with Amanda Seyfried’s “I think I have ESPN or something.”
