Tom Hiddleston set for Apple series ‘White Darkness’

Tom Hiddleston has been cast in the upcoming Apple limited series ‘White Darkness,’ from ‘Pachinko’ creator Soo Hugh.

Based on the nonfiction book of the same name by David Grann. The series is inspired by the true-life account of Henry Worsley (Hiddleston), a devoted husband and father, a former soldier, a man of deep honour and sacrifice, but also a man deeply obsessed with adventure, manifesting in an epic journey crossing Antarctica on foot.

Hugh will serve as writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on the series. Mark Heyman will executive produce and co-showrun. ‘Pachinko’ executive producer Theresa Kang-Lowe and Caroline Garity of Blue Marble Pictures will also executive produce. Apple Studios and UCP will co-produce. Blue Marble is currently under an overall deal at Apple.

Hiddleston was last seen in the Marvel and Disney+ spin-off series ‘Loki,’ He will next be seen in the Apple drama ‘The Essex Serpent’ alongside Claire Danes, which will debut in May.
