Tom Hanks is reportedly circling one of the lead roles in Kathryn Bigelow’s Sleeping Dogs according to THR.

Sleeping Dogs, previously titled Triple Frontier, is set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, which is a haven for organized crime, and centers on five men of various ages working in the zone.

The film is Bigelow’s follow-up to the Academy Award-winning The Hurt Locker and will reunite her with writer Mark Boal.

Hanks, if cast, would play one of the five men, with Sean Penn, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner and Leonardo DiCaprio all rumoured to be in line for the other leads.

Production is expected to start early next year.
