Director Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) has confirmed that shooting on Mission: Impossible 5 is now underway, and we have some photos from the set in Vienna, Austria to prove it!
As you can see, leading man Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt and is already back in action as he prepares to shoot what appears to be a pretty dangerous scene on the roof of an opera house.
In terms of plot, we don’t really have much of an idea as to what we should expect, but now that the cast has been assembled and shooting has begun, it shouldn’t be too long until we find out more.
The untitled Mission: Impossible 5 also stars Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin and Ving Rhames, and will nicely finish off a busy 2015 when it’s released on December 25th (just one week after Star Wars Episode VII, so it should be very interesting to see how that battle plays out at the box office…).
McQuarrie’s Tweet can be seen below along with one of the photos from the set. The full gallery can be found by visiting ComingSoon.net.
Vienna, we are here to light the fuse. #MI5Diary
