As expected, Marvel Studios didn’t release the Avengers: Infinity War trailer following their Hall H presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con last night but a new look at Thor: Ragnarok is here and it’s suitably epic! Featuring a very different tone to pretty much every other Marvel movie, the 80s throwback pits Thor against The Hulk before teaming them up!
They’ll be working together to battle Cate Blanchett’s Hela, the Goddess of Death. Joining them is Loki and Valkyrie and the signs are pointing to this being a suitably epic showdown.
However, it’s The Hulk we have to thank for some of the best moments here. Throughout the trailer, we get to see the Jade Giant in his gladiatorial armour and the battling both the Fenris Wolf and Surtur, a fiery demon fans have wanted to see on the big screen for years.
The Thor movies have never really soared in the same way as those revolving around heroes like Captain America and Iron Man but it looks like Taika Waititi is going to change that and this is definitely shaping up to be November’s most exciting superhero movie as a result (sorry, Justice League). I thought Dr Strange was in this one? I remember an end credit scene in Dr Strange where he was chatting to Thor and offering his help.
I cannot wait for this to be released on blu-ray. I’ve only watched a little bit of the trailer, and that’s all I will watch because I don’t want to ruin it for myself.
