Hiroyuki-Sanada-and-Hugh-Jackman-on-set-of-The-WolverineWith The Wolverine hitting theatres this summer, and X-Men: Days of Future Past arriving a year later, things are definitely looking good for the fans of Marvel’s mutant franchise.

The Wolverine is just over two months out from its debut at the multiplex, and we’ve seen nothing but good things from the film so far. We were recently treated to the awesome new trailer showcased at this year’s CinemaCon. And following shortly after came a great new teaser poster, giving us another glimpse at Silver Samurai.

And now director James Mangold has taken to Twitter once more to share a handful of new set photos. And with them comes the news that he’s coming close to completing the film in its entirety:

We are in the home stretch as we begin recording the score and mixing the film this week.

Jackman is of course reprising his eponymous role as Logan / Wolverine, and I can’t wait to see him front and centre here this summer.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

The film will see Jackman starring alongside a brilliant cast, led by Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Mangold is directing from a script co-written by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback, with Jackman producing alongside Hutch Parker, John Palermo (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Drive), and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men, Constantine).

The Wolverine will be released in 3D on July 26th in the US and UK, which is a release date that can’t come fast enough for me. This promises to be immense.
