Four new stills (which seems like an appropriate number) have been released from writer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and director Josh Trank’s (Chronicle) upcoming reboot of the Fantastic Four.

They put the spotlight on all four key members of the superhero team. They are of course Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller, Whiplash), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kate Mara, House of Cards), Johnny Storm/The Human Torch (Michael, B. Jordan, Red Tails), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Jamie Bell, Billy Elliot).

These images offer up our first proper look at Sue’s costume as well as a glimpse of Harvey Elder, a character better known to comic book fans as Mole Man. He’s being played by Tim Blake Nelson.

Talking to Empire Magazine about Fantastic Four, Trank said that the tone of the reboot is that of a “dark Amblin movie” and added this about his unique take on the Marvel property: “There’s the opportunity to make something that is challenging and tragic and dramatic. The opportunity is right there in the material. We’d rather steer it in that direction as opposed to just embracing a tone that comes right off the page.”

Fantastic Four is a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
