Here’s a trailer that will send shivers down your spine as Working Title / StudioCanal release the first trailer for The Program, a theatrical re-telling of the Lance Armstrong story.
Armstrong was / is an inspiration man, recovering from cancer only to go on to win the Tour de France an unprecedented seven times only to be stripped of those wins in 2012 when he was ousted as a cheat after being found to use performance enhancing drugs.
Ben Foster plays Armstrong opposite Chris O’Dowd, Dustin Hoffman, Jesse Plemons and Guillaume Canet in the movie directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen, Philomena). O’Dowd plays David Walsh, the Sunday Times journalist who believed Armstrong was cheating for years (and was dubbed the Little Troll by Armstrong) only to be proved right.
The Program hits UK cinemas later this year.
