Given the rebirth of Liam Neeson as Hollywood Action Man #1 it’s no great leap of the imagination to see him back for Taken 2, a film whose title could have so easily have hidden the fact that it’s another killing spree in exotic locales (Re-Taken, Taken Again, Taken Too?).
Olivier Megaton is the director picking up the reins for the sequel to Pierre Morel’s 2008 surprise hit and the trailer acts as a nostalgic hit of familiar action, kicking, gunblasts and terrified females while setting up the latest premise. Neeson can obviously rise to the occasion and there’s certainly enough people who will pay to see a new film even if it doesn’t seemingly deviate too heavily from its forebear.
