Universal Pictures has unveiled the trailer for ‘The History of Sound,’ a sweeping, romantic period drama set against the backdrop of World War I.
In 1917, Lionel (Paul Mescal), a gifted young music student, meets David (Josh O’Connor) at the Boston Conservatory. Bound by a shared devotion to folk music, the two form a powerful connection that reverberates beyond the confines of their world. Years later, Lionel receives a letter from David, prompting an unexpected journey through the backwoods of Maine to collect traditional songs before they are lost to time.
As the pair travel together, their mission to preserve the voices of the past evolves into something far more personal. Their reunion rekindles emotions long buried, leading to a tender love affair that transcends both distance and circumstance. The songs they gather and the memories they create will echo throughout Lionel’s life, shaping his story in ways he could never have foreseen.
