20th Century Studios has released the chilling official trailer for ‘The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,’ a modern reimagining of the classic thriller. Directed by Michelle Garza Cervera (Huesera: The Bone Woman), the psychological drama will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on October 22, 2025.
The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Caitlin Morales, an affluent suburban mother who seems to have the perfect life—until the arrival of a new nanny changes everything. Maika Monroe, known for her breakout role in It Follows, takes on the unsettling role of Polly Murphy, a caregiver whose warm demeanour conceals sinister intentions.
The trailer teases a spiral of paranoia, manipulation, and psychological terror as Caitlin begins to suspect Polly is not who she claims to be. With tension building in every frame, the film promises a harrowing exploration of trust, motherhood, and the fragility of domestic safety.
Joining Winstead and Monroe are Raúl Castillo, Martin Starr, Mileiah Vega, Riki Lindhome, and Shannon Cochran, rounding out an ensemble cast that deepens the film’s taut and suspenseful atmosphere.
