Amazon MGM Studios has revealed a striking set of first-look images from ‘The Bluff,’ offering an early glimpse at a swaggering, steel-clashing period thriller that promises to hit hard and move fast.
Billed as a non-stop thrill ride that fuses rich historical texture with slick modern filmmaking, ‘The Bluff’ appears to be packed with gripping sword fights, cleverly laid traps, and bloody, close-quarters brawls. It is the kind of rousing action adventure designed to be shared, a reminder of the ferocious lengths people will go to when family is on the line.
At the centre of it all is Priyanka Chopra Jonas, delivering what is being described as one of her fiercest and most physically demanding performances to date. She stars as Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, a complex and battle-hardened heroine trying to outrun a violent pirate past. The newly released images showcase Chopra Jonas mid-combat and battle-ready, radiating both raw power and emotional weight as a woman caught between the life she escaped and the warrior she can never fully leave behind.

Directed by Frank E. Flowers, who co-wrote the script with Joe Ballarini, the film brings an epic period thriller to life against the lush and rugged backdrop of the Cayman Islands. The first look images highlight stunning real-world locations, including the eerie Skull Cave and the towering, iconic bluff itself, grounding the film’s heightened action in a setting rich with history and atmosphere.
The story follows Ercell after she has seemingly found peace with her loving husband, T.H., played by Ismael Cruz Cordova, their son, Isaac, played by Vedanten Naidoo, and her sister in-law, Elizabeth, played by Safia Oakley-Green. That fragile calm is shattered when her former pirate captain, Connor, portrayed by Karl Urban, arrives seeking revenge. The images tease Urban’s menacing presence and the looming threat of his merciless crew, setting the stage for an inevitable and brutal reckoning.
As Connor’s vendetta drags Ercell back into a deadly game of secrets and survival, she is forced to embrace her lethal swordsmanship, cunning traps, and relentless will to protect the people she loves. What unfolds is not just a war for survival, but a journey of redemption, as Ercell reclaims her power and fully embraces the warrior she once was.
‘The Bluff’ is produced by siblings Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, and Angela Russo Otstot through their AGBO banner, adding further weight to the project’s epic ambitions. The cast also includes Temuera Morrison, rounding out a formidable ensemble.
‘The Bluff’ will premiere globally on Prime Video on February 25, 2026.
