Star Wars: Battlefront is now on sale, and while the single player mode disappoints, there’s nothing quite like heading into battle against the Rebels or Imperials with 39 other players around you. The upcoming Battle of Jakku looks set to take that epicness to the next level though, and now the first teaser trailer for that has been revealed by EA and DICE.

Taking place 29 years before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jakku is the planet Rey calls home, and this game mode will explain how it ended up littered with the remains of Imperial ships. “There’s a David and Goliath theme to this,” explains DICE concept artist Anton Grandert. “The epic, huge super structures of the Star Destroyers contrast against the tiny but brave Rebel soldiers fighting the Imperial forces.”

“We wanted to portray a battle completely surrounding you, in every direction,” he continued. “Debris is falling from the sky, telling the story of battles above. On the surface of the planet you can see ground troops as well as X-wings, all taking part of the fight.”

That sounds incredible, and it will be interesting to see if this Star Wars: Battlefront mode is going to shed any light on what we should expect to see from Jakku on the big screen.

Those of you who pre-ordered Star Wars: Battlefront will be able to try it out on December 1st, while it’s set to become available as feel DLC for everyone else just one week later.
