The movie is directed by Raja Gosnell has a voice cast which includes Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, Hank Azaria, Alan Cumming, George Lopez, Jeff Foxworthy and Paul Reubens.
The Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs) is a comic and television franchise centered on a fictional group of small blue creatures called Smurfs, created by and first introduced as a series of illustrated comic strips by the Belgian cartoonist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford) on October 23, 1958. Culliford’s initial comic first appeared in the Belgian magazine Spirou, and several decades later was adapted into an English language children’s television series by Hanna-Barbera Productions, titled The Smurfs.

Is it too immediately reactionary to say that I hate everything about this trailer? From the lazily updated theme music (hey! it's all hip-hop and stuff, yeah?), the tacky double entendre of “Smurf Happens”, the down-wid-da-kids graffiti grammar and fonts and the obvious plot device of being “lost in Manhattan”, it's all rubbish.
