Variety are reporting that Warner Brothers have picked up Chan-Wook Park’s Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance with eyes on remaking it for the subtitle-aversive. This is on the heels of Spielberg’s now thankfully shelved remake of Oldboy, but will its move overseas mean result in a less bloody vengeance?
Brian Tucker, the scribe of Broken City, has been tasked with the dilution and if this film ever sees the projected light of day it will need to have be something special, and if Spielberg can’t bring a similar adaptation to US audiences what chance does this film have?
