We’ve seen so many awesome things from The Amazing Spider-Man already, and every new look we get at the film just makes the anticipation all the higher.

The bar was of course set high by Sam Raimi’s original trilogy, but I have every faith that Marc Webb has done a fantastic job with the reboot, and is sure to bring us a different vision of the superhero we all know and love.

We got two great new posters from the film last week, and now we have a new image to share, via IMDb, and judging from the scratches to his costume, which have cut through to bare skin, it looks like Spider-Man’s taken a bit of a beating. (Perhaps one that leads to an image we’ve already seen, which I’ve added below.)

With a cast led by Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, supported by the likes of Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary, C. Thomas Howell, and of course the usual Stan Lee cameo, things are going to be so good for Webb’s first venture into the superhero blockbuster genre.

“The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.”

The Amazing Spider-Man will be with us in 3D on 4th July, which is definitely a date to set down in your calendars. If you’re living in the US, you’ll be getting it a day earlier on 3rd July. Wherever you are, if you’re a fan of superhero and/or action films, this is promising to be one of the best blockbusters of the summer. As usual with the great new image below, you can click to enlarge. And for everything else we’ve seen from the film, just click right here.
