Searching for Sugar Man Director Malik Bendjelloul has Died at 36

Malik BendjelloulVery sad news coming in this evening that the BAFTA and Oscar winning director of Searching for Sugar Man, Malik Bendjelloul, has died in Stockholm today. He was just 36.

News reports are building a picture of the tragic story, the family have confirmed the news but no cause of death has been released yet. Searching for Sugar Man is an essential film and Twitter is filling up with sad stories of how nice Bendjelloul was, as well as tributes to his talent.

  1. I loved Director Malik Bendjelloul and followed all his interviews on Sugarman Rodriguez. I am in shock of his death. I send love to his family. I know Rodriguez is also very sad of the terrible news. “Vaya con Dios”
