Ryan Gosling has entered into negotiations to join the cast of Shawn Levy’s currently untitled ‘Star Wars’ movie.
The movie is said to be a standalone project that isn’t connected with the Skywalker Saga, which concluded with 2019’s ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.’ Further plot details are firmly under wraps.
Levy has been developing the latest offering since 2022 with screenwriter Jonathan Tropper currently penning the screenplay.

Levy’s film will follow ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu,’ the first ‘Star Wars’ movie to receive a green light in over five years. That film recently completed its principal photography and is scheduled to premiere on May 22, 2026.
Gosling’s upcoming projects include the sci-fi thriller ‘Project Hail Mary’ from directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, based on the bestseller by Andy Weir.
