Despite Russell Crowe’s worldwide travels, in which he has been asking his social media followers Where am I now?, the Aussie actor has found time to take on a new role. Crowe will be taking on the role of Fox News founder, Roger Ailes in the showtime limited series, The Loudest Voice in the Room.

The series, which will consist of 8 episodes, is adapted from Gabriel Sherman’s novel. It tells the story of the last decade of Ailes’ life, while also flashing back to key moments in his career including meeting with Richard Nixon, the political path he became known for, and the sexual harassment accusations that would lead to his downfall.

The series won’t be all one-sided either, the story will be told from varying viewpoints. It will delve into the psychology of Ailes as well as taking a deeper look at how political forces shaped him and his career.

This would be the first time Crowe has ventured into an American TV series after making his mark 30 years ago in Neighbours. He was last seen on the big screen in the monster flop, The Mummy opposite Tom Cruise. This year, Crowe will feature in Drew Goddard’s Bad Times at El Royale opposite Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson and Jon Hamm. He also has Joel Edgerton’s Boy Erased on the horizon.
