With the long-awaited Independence Day sequel now upon us, we had the distinct pleasure to discuss the project with the man at the helm of this franchise, Roland Emmerich.
We asked the accomplished filmmaker why he decided to create this sequel, and what it is about the disaster movie sub-genre that appeals to him so greatly. He also discussed why Will Smith isn’t involved, and what that news means to the making of the feature.
