As we prepare ourselves for the debut cinematic endeavour of everybody’s favourite office boss David Brent, we had the pleasure to sit down with the creator himself, Ricky Gervais.
We discussed why we find ourselves rooting for underdogs like Brent, and how essential it was to this feature that the character remained on the back foot throughout. Gervais also explains the challenges in writing music that has to be funny/good/bad all at the same time. Which brings us to the ‘Serpent Who Guards the Gates of Hell’. Honesty, what does it mean?
