Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first official trailer for ‘Regretting You,’ the highly anticipated adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, bringing to life a moving and emotionally charged portrait of grief, secrets, and the unbreakable bond between mother and daughter.
Directed by ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and ‘The New Mutants’ helmer Josh Boone, the movie stars Allison Williams (Get Out, M3GAN) as Morgan Grant, a young mother whose carefully ordered life is shattered when her husband Chris dies unexpectedly. Thrust into unfamiliar emotional territory, Morgan must confront long-buried truths while navigating the increasingly fragile relationship with her teenage daughter Clara, played by rising star McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, The Handmaid’s Tale).
Set against the backdrop of small-town Texas, the trailer teases a deeply intimate drama that captures Hoover’s signature blend of heartbreak, hope, and human complexity. As Clara struggles with her own grief and teenage rebellion, she begins to uncover pieces of her parents’ past that make her question everything she thought she knew. The generational rift widens, but so does the need for understanding.
Dave Franco (The Now, Neighbors) plays Jonah, Chris’s oldest friend and a man with his own share of unresolved pain. Mason Thames (The Black Phone) stars as Miller, Clara’s unexpected confidant, while Sam Morelos (That ‘90s Show) adds youthful fire as Clara’s best friend Lexie. The film also features Scott Eastwood (The Outpost), Willa Fitzgerald (Reacher), and Clancy Brown (Dexter: New Blood) in pivotal supporting roles.
Emotionally raw and powerfully performed, the movie explores the tangled web of love, betrayal, and forgiveness that binds families together — even when everything threatens to tear them apart.
