In contrast with the Oscars, as we head towards the end of the awards season this year, the Razzies celebrate what they (in many cases, unfairly) deem to be the year’s worst contributions in the film industry.

Recent years have had the tendency to focus on a select few films and/or filmmakers/actors, and then nominate them across the board. Last year, it was Adam Sandler. This year, it was The Twilight Saga.

Whilst a lot of people (critics as well as audiences) felt that the franchise’s final instalment, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, was a series-best, and a great finale to the series, the Razzies went ahead and gave the nominations you’d expect, nominating the film and its team across the board.

I remain unable to get behind the spirit of the Razzies, especially when they seem to focus on the easy targets, regardless of how deserved the nomination is.

Kristen Stewart, for example, certainly doesn’t deserve to win Worst Actress for her role in Breaking Dawn – Part 2, for my money. I think she’s a really talented actress, and can’t wait to see what she does over the next few years following the franchise’s conclusion.

Nonetheless, the awards continue to be voted for each year, and you can find the full results below. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 tops the board with seven wins. Adam Sandler took home the raspberry for Worst Actress, with That’s My Boy taking the Worst Screenplay award by a single vote. And Rihanna’s performance in Battleship earned her the Worst Supporting Actress statue. Sound off in the comments below if you agree or disagree.

  1. For those of you who keep insisting to us NON-fans because ‘Stephenie Meyer is laughing all the way to the bank… The only reason THAT happened is because YOU all allowed her to force this incredibly dysfunctional story down our throats like this AFTER we were SCREAMING our issues about it.

Basically, the way they filmed BDp1 AND BDp2 is a huge SLAP-in-the-face to MANY of her FORMER FANS – not to mention the ENTIRE WORLDWIDE VAMPIRE FANDOM (those of us who weren’t obsessed with Twilight’s not-even-SORT-of ‘Vamps”, anyway.

SMeyer could have written ANY ‘ol ending in Breaking Dawn – and that’s obviously what she did. The fans she ‘accidentally’ got addicted to her story because of the irresponsible way she wrote it would have LAPPED UP whatever P*SS she wrote like honey (and you did).

This entire ‘blockbuster saga’ was built off of DEBATES, not good storytelling!! If you would like the COMPLETE explanation that officially DEBUNKS the Twilight Saga storyline, do a search for ‘explain twilight breaking dawn ending on blogspot’ – you’ll find EVERYTHING you need to know and ALOT more than you EVER wanted, LoL!

  2. Catherine Dove keep your nasty comments to yourself. Not everyone hates twilight ya now! so if you want to make yourself one of the most hated people in the world keep typing! I believe you should be aloud express yourself, but you have to
consider other people as well! And don’t be so aggressive!
I think myself that they went a bit harsh on twilight. It was and ok movie, not the best. But i believe that those actors are genuinely good actors and that they didnt deserve that!
