Marvel has released a new trailer for the midseason premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and it offers up a very intriguing look at what’s to come for Skye (Chloe Bennet) in the second half of the show’s second season.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

In the midseason finale, Agent Triplett was killed off after Skye and the villainous Raina were exposed to the Terrigen Mists deep underground. While the former was revealed to be comic book character Daisy Johnson/Quake, we still don’t know what happened to Raina. Skye however seems positively…Inhuman!

Introducing the concept of the Terrigen Mists is a direct reference to upcoming Marvel movie, Inhumans, and it appears as if the second half of the season will deal with Skye’s transformation, meaning that the series will finally deal with superpowers. This is a smart move by Marvel following the success of DC’s The Flash!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on March 4th, as Marvel are currently airing Agent Carter. The series is shown on Channel 4 in the UK and should be back there shortly after its return in the US. The date is unknown.
