Sony Pictures has released the gripping new trailer for ‘Project Hail Mary,’ the highly anticipated sci-fi epic based on Andy Weir’s bestselling novel. The film stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a mild-mannered science teacher who awakens aboard a mysterious spacecraft light-years from home — with no memory of who he is, how he got there, or why he’s alone.

As fragments of his past begin to return, Grace discovers the impossible truth: he has been sent on a desperate, last-chance mission to uncover the secrets of a strange cosmic substance that is causing the sun to dim. If he fails, Earth faces total extinction.

The trailer teases a tense, visually dazzling survival story filled with scientific ingenuity, high-stakes problem-solving, and the emotional weight of a man carrying the fate of humanity on his shoulders. But as Grace digs deeper into his mission, he finds he may not have to face the universe alone — forming an unexpected bond that could change everything.

Directed by the duo behind ‘The Lego Movie’ and ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,’ Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, ‘Project Hail Mary’ features an impressive ensemble cast alongside Gosling, including Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub.
