Toys to life is a phrase you hear a lot in video-game circles, but Disney’s new Playmation project looks to revolutionize the extension of gaming with toys.
Unlike Skylanders, Disney Infinity and Lego Dimensions this doesn’t just unlock on-screen content with plastic figurines. Here the play is in the real world and experienced when children put on smart wearable technology.

As you can see it’s quite an unusual experience. With Avengers coming first in October and then Star Wars and Frozen adventures landing in subsequent years, Disney is betting big on Playmation. We can see why.
