That’s right; our Aca-Bellas are back and hoping to hit the high notes once again in the brand new trailer for Pitch Perfect 3
Last time we set eyes on the Bellas, Fat Amy had disgraced not only her band of singing sirens but also the “sport” of acapella when her costume ripped in the most glorious of places and they had to fight their way back to the big league against Germany’s best Das Sound Machine. This time around it’s looking like the Bellas are going Global baby, Fat Amy is Fat Amy, the most Bad Ass Bella is up to her normal antics, as you can see from the teaser we’ve included below she is attacked by dogs.
According to a recent interview with USA Today, Trish Sie revealed the third instalment has a hint of a Fat Amy origin story, where we find out the real reason why she has that nickname. The Bellas are no longer at Barden University and the movie will contain songs we haven’t even heard yet.
Pitch Perfect 3 brings back all our favourites, including Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy, Anna Kendrick as Beca, Brittany Snow as Chloe, Anna Camp as Aubrey, Elizabeth Banks, and John Michael Higgins, Hailee Steinfeld and introduces some fresh blood to the mix too, with Orange is the New Black’s Ruby Rose, and a few others including John Lithgow and DJ Khalid.
After writing the first two in the franchise, Kay Cannon has stayed loyal to the Barden Bellas and penned the third in the series which see’s a new director in Step Up All’s Trish Sie taking the helm with Elizabeth Banks now moving into the Producer’s chair after her schedule got a bit hectic juggling her personal life and directing the Charlie’s Angel’s reboot which is due for release in 2019.
