With the recent underperformance of their Scre4m, you could be forgiven for underestimating the market for horror comedies. Dimension Films, however, have clearly tested the water and decided that it’s safe for another dip. In a manner of speaking, at least.

Receiving the greenlight following last year’s critical and commercial success, the sequel to Piranha 3D (hylariously titled Piranha 3DD) has finally earned itself some bait a cast – currently in the opening throws of production in Wilmington, NC.

With the ‘original’ director and cast apparently disbanded, Feast’s John Gulager has amassed a cast which so far includes Danielle Panabaker (TV’s Shark), Matt Bush (Adventureland), Chris Zylka (The Amazing Spider-man), David Koechner (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), Meagan Tandy, Paul James Jordan, Jean-Luc Bilodeau (Trick ‘r Treat), Gary Busey, Hector Jimenez (Nacho Libre), Adrian Martinez (Kick-Ass) and Clu Gulager (The Return of the Living Dead).

Due for release in November, 2011, there is still no word as to whether Ving Rhames – who had previously shown interest in returning – will be reprising his role as the apparently not dead Deputy Fallon.
