Borgen, Game of Thrones and more recently Salem’s Lot, Pilou Asbæk discusses his role in Secrets (Den Gode Stemning), a gripping Danish drama series available to stream on Viaplay. The show explores the hidden tensions and dark secrets within a seemingly well-functioning family. Asbæk portrays Mads, a music teacher who spirals into a dangerous lifestyle as he struggles with the pressures of his everyday life and unresolved childhood family trauma.

The plot centres around siblings Mads (Asbæk) and Eva (Iben Hjejle), who live in adjacent apartments in Copenhagen with their respective families. Mads, trapped in the predictability of his family and professional life, turns to drugs, alcohol, and an underground world of vices to escape his reality. His double life becomes increasingly difficult to manage, and despite his best efforts, his life inevitably starts to unravel.
