Ghostbusters hasn’t even been released yet – but it has garnered a remarkable amount of negativity, with the official trailer owning an unwanted spot in the top 10 most disliked videos on YouTube. So when we caught up with the film’s director, Paul Feig, we wanted to ask for his response to the critics, and how it has affected the cast and crew.
We also asked why he wanted to reboot Ghostbusters, and the challenges that derive from attempting to appease both old fans and new.

honestly, it’s just sexism. this movie might be good and it might be awful, but with the Indiana Jones/Jurassic World/Jaws Remakes-esque movies being produced by the dozen, all arguments of loving the original fall flat as the only main difference appears to be the gender of the main characters – especially considering that this is a director who’s last few movies have been wins and actresses (and Hemsworth) who’re all highly recognisable, so where’s the argument against it here? I’m willing to give it a chance, and tbh, I’ll probably watch it several times just to spite the haters (and for my own enjoyment).
I disagree with everything you said. First off none of his movies speaks to the audience of GBs. Also it’s not sexism. Thats his spin to hide the fact he made a terrible terrible movie. This is a major mistake. The jokes are awful no one is funny the movie is in no way like GBs but in reality is some PC generation snowflake bland crapfest, there is a flesh and blood bad guy, chris helmsworth is possesed and evil for most of the movie and This is all paul fiegs fault. Not the ladies. His fault. You hear me. He dropped the ball. He messed up. He is the issue.
Paul feig you have destroyed GBs.
