Thirlby will join Karl Urban (Red, Star Trek), who was announced as the futuristic lawman Judge Dredd at San Diego’s Comic-Con event earlier this year.
Pete Travis (Vantage Point, Omagh) will direct from a script by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Never Let Me Go).
Judge Dredd, which has been called a “very hard, R-rated, gritty, realistic movie”, will be a co-production between DNA Films, Reliance Big Entertainment and IM Global and be shot on a $45M budget.
I’m not really a Judge Dredd fan but I can see how hardcore fans of Judge Dredd may not have liked the previous movie. Hope they do a better job this time.
