Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård are set to reunite on Robert Eggers next feature, the Viking revenge drama ‘The Northman’.

The film, which is set in Iceland at the turn of the 10th century, sees Eggers direct from a script he co-wrote with Icelandic poet and novelist Sjón. ‘Midsommar’ producer Lars Knudsen will produce.

Also in talks to join the project is ‘Glass’ and ‘Peaky Blinders’ actress Anya Taylor-Joy and ‘The Lighthouse’ and ‘Motherless Brooklyn’ actor William Dafoe. The project will see Kidman and Skarsgård reunite after starring in ‘Big Little Lies’ together, and Dafoe reuniting with Eggers who also directed Dafoe’s latest, ‘The Lighthouse’.

As well as starring in TV series ‘Big Little Lies’, Kidman was last seen on the big screen in the flop ‘The Goldfinch’. Her upcoming projects include starring alongside Charlize Theron and Margot Robbie in ‘Bombshell’ and the TV series ‘The Undoing’ which follows a successful therapist in New York as she begins to unravel on the eve of publishing her first book.

Last seen in ‘Big Little Lies’, Skarsgård will be seen on the big screen in Godzilla Vs. Kong and CBS All Access’ adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’. His other projects include ‘Long Shot’ and ‘The Kill Team’.

Egger’s latest, ‘The Lighthouse‘ stars Dafoe opposite Robert Pattinson who stars as lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s where things quickly take a turn for the creepy.
