Identity-Thief-PosterLed by Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, Identity Thief is by far one of the more promising comedies coming our way next year.

The first trailer landed back in September, and showed plenty of promise for the crime-comedy caper. And with just under two months to go before it arrives in the US, Apple have debuted another trailer to give us a second great look at the film.

“Unlimited funds have allowed Diana (McCarthy) to live it up on the outskirts of Miami, where the queen of retail buys whatever strikes her fancy. There’s only one glitch: The ID she’s using to finance these sprees reads “Sandy Bigelow Patterson” … and it belongs to an accounts rep (Bateman) who lives halfway across the U.S.

With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his world implodes, the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson heads south to confront the woman with an all-access pass to his life. And as he attempts to bribe, coax and wrangle her the 2,000 miles to Denver, one easy target will discover just how tough it is to get your name back”

Starring alongside Bateman and McCarthy will be a great supporting cast, headed up by Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet, Eric Stonestreet, John Cho, TI, and Genesis Rodriguez.

Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) is reuniting with Bateman once more behind the camera, directing from a script by Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II, The Hangover Part III).

Identity Thief will be hitting the US on 8th February, 2013. Here in the UK, its release date is set slightly later on 1st March, and it looks lilke it’s going to be well worth the wait. For now, here’s the new trailer to get you in the mood. Enjoy.
