This Is 40 PosterJudd Apatow’s This Is 40, the highly anticipated sort-of sequel to Knocked Up, is due out in the US just in time for Christmas, and it will be very interesting to see what the Academy makes of it when the Oscar nominations are announced in January.

Starring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in the leads this time around, we got the latest poster for the film last week, and now Yahoo Movies have debuted a new red-band featurette for the film, and as you can imagine, it’s not exactly work-appropriate viewing.

“Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see firsthand how they are dealing with their current state of life.”

Jason Segel reprises his role alongside the leading duo, as well as Mann and Apatow’s real-life children Maude and Iris Apatow, with great support coming from Megan Fox, Albert Brooks, Chris O’Dowd, John Lithgow, Melisssa McCarthy, and the ever-brilliant Lena Dunham.

Apatow is once more directing from his own script, and is also producing alongside Barry Mandel (Serenity, Bridesmaids) and Clayton Townsend (Knocked Up, Bridesmaids).

This Is 40 will be released in the height of the awards season in the US on 21st December, before coming to the UK on Valentine’s Day next year for a 14th February release. A little longer to wait, but it looks like it’s going to be well worth it. For now, here’s the great new featurette – and, final warning, if you’re reading this at your desk, be sure to come back and watch it later. Enjoy.
