So often we’re giving perfunctory face shots in stark black and white, or badly photoshopped Hollywood heads on Random Models body but this new poster (via Vulture) for Tilda Swinton’s new film, I Am Love, is visually arresting and, like all great posters, layered enough to give your eye something to read into once it has caught it.
The film is appearing in Sundance right now, and is directed by Luca Guadagnino and concerns itself with a wealthy family at the very end of the 20th century and the factors which rot their family tree causing irreversible change.
The poster is below, and for comparison I’ve included the original Italian poster which, while having the same basic form, is less interesting in how it uses the typeface as an intergral part of the poster.
I am love will have its UK premiere at Glasgow Film Festival on 24 feb, at GFT & 25TH Cineworld, Renfrew street –
Thanks for that Paul – if you're attending do let us know what you think of it.
