Daniel Craig reprises his leading role as James Bond once more in Skyfall, with the film finally hitting theatres here in the UK today.

The early reviews have been immensely positive – you can read our review here – and now it’s time to see how audiences take to it. Smart money says it will be very well received, too.

With the film now arriving in our cinemas, and on the cusp of release elsewhere around the globe, a handful of new images have now surfaced online, giving us a few stills from the film as well as a few set photos.

“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Craig stars alongside an all-star cast, headed up by Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.

Sam Mendes, the Oscar-winning director of American Beauty, is making his Bond debut behind the camera, with a script penned by Bond frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).

Skyfall is released in regular and IMAX theatres here in the UK today, 26th October. In the US, it will arrive in IMAX theatres a day early on 8th November, before going wide on 9th November. This is definitely one to seek out this weekend and in the coming weeks; it looks to be one of the year’s best. For now, here are the new images, which you can click to enlarge.
