Ben Affleck’s Argo was announced as one of several films making their world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival this afternoon, and following that announcement, we’ve now got a new image from the film of leading man Affleck alongside co-star Bryan Cranston.

Affleck has once more assembled a fantastic cast for his third time behind the camera, and starring alongside him and Cranston will be Scoot McNairy, Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Clea DuVall, Kyle Chandler, Taylor Schilling, and Tate Donovan.

“Based on true events, Warner Bros. Pictures’ and GK Films’ dramatic thriller “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis–the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades.”

Affleck is directing from a script by Chris Terrio, based on an article written by Joshuah Bearman in Wired! (which makes for a fascinating read, if you have a few minutes spare).

Argo will be hitting UK and US theatres on 12th October, having made its premiere in Toronto in September. All signs are looking brilliant so far, and I’m really hoping this will take Affleck to the Oscars once more after Gone Baby Gone and The Town. As usual with the image below, you can click to enlarge.
