Hugh Jackman returns to the big screen this summer in The Wolverine, one of the biggest and most anticipated blockbusters of the year.
And judging by all we’ve seen and heard from the film so far – with Jackman and director James Mangold teasing a kind of ‘Kryptonite’ in the new film – we’ve got a lot to look forward to.
Following the brilliant motion poster we saw last month, we saw a new image of Jackman bearing his claws once more last week, and now the hi-res version has debuted online.
“Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.”
Jackman is joined by a fine cast, headed up by the awesome Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.
Mangold is directing from a script penned by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback, with Jackman himself producing alongside Hutch Parker, John Palermo (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Drive), and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men, Constantine).
The Wolverine will be released in 3D in the UK on 25th July, with its US release date set for a day later on 26th July. For now, here’s our latest look at Wolverine / Logan in hi-res, which you can click through to enlarge.
