Erm, do you want to be the ones to tell them or should we?

German-based developer Redspot Games have revealed that a new Dreamcast game is in production, despite the fact that mass production stopped on the console and its games almost a decade ago.

Company chief Max Scharl unveiled the arcade shoot-em-up, titled Sturmwind, alongside a whole host of gameplay features on German TV (check out the translation-less video below to see the game in action).

Features will include 16 levels, 3 dififculty levels, adjustable screen position (woo), over 20 large boss enemies, a hybrid 2D/3D game engine and region-free combatability.

If you’re still clinging onto your retro dreams, it’s set for release in the middle of next year.

  1. The Dreamcast was an epic console, badly let down by the marketing department of Sega and the fact that it was noisier than a chandelier in a cement mixer. Especially when compared to the Saturn it was a marvel. For nostalgic owners like me this game might very well be the incentive to retrieve the old girl from the attic.
