Just as snow threatens to seasonally envelop the UK there’s rarely been a better time to enjoy a new clip from this Christmas laced gem from Finland.

Written and directed by Jalmari Helander this decidedly  unsavoury festive tale has a foreign mining team uncovering something of huge import and dubious origin high in the Finnish mountains. What they find buried in the snow, and the effect it has on the local community is devastating, hilarious and like nothing you’ve seen before.

Telling the seasonal tale of Father Christmas by way of Hieronymus Bosch this wonderful tale has elements of Spielberg and Dante (both Joe and Alighieri) and the new clip below sets up the story nicely. It played very well at the London Film Festival this year and is really worth catching when it blows into UK cinemas on the 3rd of December.

Empire did the decent thing and uncage this one.
